About the Prints

The prints being sold on this site are produced by me. I photograph the original art with studio lights and a digital SLR. My computer system (monitor to printer) is calibrated using the Datacolor Spyder3 Studio system. All prints are made using genuine epson inks and printed on archival matte papers. The specific paper used may vary between editions as supplies and prices change in the marketplace. Prints within each edition will use the same paper stock. ALL paper used will be archvial matte unless otherwise noted.

Each image is printed in small editions of 5. The edition number and the number of the print within the edition is noted on the print as is the title and date of the original and the date the print was made. I then pencil sign each print. Below is an example of what the text on a finished print looks like. The signature will be above my printed name on the lower left. Once all five of an edition are sold I may print a second edtion of five which will be marked as such on the lower right of each print.

About the Color

I make every effort possible to match the color of the print to that of the original. This also means that you may find that the colors of your print do not in fact match the color you see on your computer monitor. The nature of color managment on computers makes trying to match my monitor to your monitor to my print to my original a losing battle. Therefore I match the print to the original and leave it at that. The image files on this website are embedded with the sRGB color profile which gives a modicum of possible color consistancy between monitors.

For a good explanation and some clear examples of color spaces and color managemet see Jeffey Friedl's wonderful article on "Digital-Image Color Spaces".
